The new streaming service went on line today (11th January 2010). It is a different streaming format than the previous one and now uses WinAmp rather than Windows Media Player.
If you have Winamp already installed, the LISTEN LIVE quicklink on the menu at the top of the screen should work automatically as before. Simply select the 'play/open with Winamp' option the first time you click it.
If you don't have Winamp installed, or Windows Media Player automatically runs, or something else happens other than you hearing the Power FM stream, please check out the help page which can be accessed from the LISTEN option on the STATION GUIDE dropdown on the menu.

We have had a bit of a shake-up in the Power FM studio today and made some improvements that we hope are to your liking.
First of all, we are sure you'll appreciate that phoning your favourite presenter for a request or to enter a competition has now got cheaper. Gone is the special 905512345 number which we thought was starting to get a little too expensive and in comes a new cheaper number for you to call.
In fact it's now free and you can't get any cheaper than that can you? The new studio number is: 922 861396
SMS Texts To The Studio
The cost of these too has risen considerably and the latest price rise by the service provider for our 5533 number we thought was now asking a bit too much. So, we decided to get rid and replace it with something more affordable for you.
The new number will be in place some time this week and we'll announce it here and on air as soon as we know it.
In the meantime, please do not use the 5535 number as your call will not count though you may be charged...

Shane Richie visits Power FM
Monday 28th September 2009, a normal morning at Power FM. Until Shane Richie descended on the building to speak to Eddie Hastings, who was sitting in for Val Richardson on the Big Fat Lunch.
Total mayhem followed and the staff here were treated to a great morning with Shane, culminating in one of the best interviews here on the station.
